Sculptural Ceramic Table Base by George Greenmayer

$5,000

1973

Hand-built, Brutalist table base of glazed and unglazed stoneware by New England sculptor George Greenamyer. Commissioned by Vladimir Kagan and produced in small numbers in the early 1970s. The rugged, architecturally sculptural form is reminiscent of work being done in the same period in La Borne, France. Measuring 17" square x 16.5" high, the base can be used as a cocktail or side table. Four steel rods set into the corners give the piece stability and a level surface for the glass. Impressed signature. Price is for the ceramic base only; a picture is included with a glass top for illustration.
