Cocktail table with a ceramic mosaic top by Massachusetts ceramist David Holleman (b. 1927), executed circa 1960s. Essentially a framed plaque with legs, the colorful cityscape mosaic is comprised of small, glazed ceramic tiles mixed with sgrafitto panels. Holleman's work was featured in the National Ceramics Shows in Syracuse in the Mid-Century and is in the collections of the National Gallery in Washington D.C., the Carnegie Institute in PA, and the Jewish Museum in N.Y., among others. He has done numerous public murals and he also taught at the Harvard Graduate School of Design from 1960-1977.

Condition
Excellent. In fine overall condition. The wooden frame and legs have been over-glazed and polished; a chip to one of the small square ceramic tiles has been repaired.
