Chessboard in two-tone walnut with dovetailed edges and blue-tinted acrylic panel, sitting atop its cubic tubular chrome base. Designed by Austin Cox to accompany the celebrated aluminum chess set he designed as part of ALCOA’s, early 1960s Campaign to introduce aluminum into the household. Produced by Austin Enterprises of Akron, Ohio, circa 1960s. The wooden board has been refinished; the acrylic panel is replaced. A photo of the chess set is included for reference; the price is for the chess table only.

Condition
Excellent. The wooden chess board is refinished and is in fine condition; the acrylic top is new; the chrome base shows minor wear consistent with age and use.
