Rarely seen stack of two nesting stools with hairpin legs of blackened wrought iron with wooden blocks and webbing. From the "Checkerboard Collection" designed by Maxwell Yellen and produced by Yellen, Inc of Astoria, New York, circa 1953. Two of what was originally a set of three. Measurements are of the larger stool. Ref: Furniture Forum, vol 4, 1953.

Condition
Fine overall condition. The stools have been newly re-webbed. The wooden blocks were painted at some point and show some minor losses. The metal has been touched up. See photos.
