Turned stoneware vase with incised and glazed abstract decorative motif and chamotte body. By midwestern studio potter Clyde Burt (1922-18), circa 1960s. Burt, a student of Maija Grotell's at Cranbrook, and a Pioneer of the American studio ceramic movement, exhibited at the Ceramic Nationals between 1954-58. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian and Everson museums. The present vessel manifests the harmony of form, pattern, and palette that characterizes Burt's work. With incised mark underneath.

Excellent condition with only very minor wear consistent with age.
