This painting was done while Quentin was at the Olivetti laboratories in Milan, exploring art semiotics and experimenting with electronic writing. The painting represents an oscilloscope image of his heartbeat while writing. Beside his visual art, Quentin designed innovative inflatable furniture and sculptures during the 1960's and 1070's. Along with Pierre Restany, he founded the radical group Art +, which produced public environmental art. Quentin still works in Paris, showing regularly at the Galerie Catherine Houard.
