Free-standing cast and hand-collaged sculpture of sulphur bronze and silver by Boston-area artist Richard Filipowski. A densely textured, naturalistic form in the shape of a footed cube. A favorite student of Moholy-Nagy in Chicago, Filipowski went on to teach a Bauhaus fundamentals course at MIT for 36 years, all the while sculpting, painting, and designing."Cube" was shown at the Joan Peterson Gallery in Boston in 1962, but this is the first time his work is being shown in New York City.
