“Tango,” a work in torch-cut steel with an ash wash, atop an 18.5” high cylindrical steel base. By American artist James Bearden. The abstract pas-de-deux weaves two figures sinuously with masterful control of the positive and negative space. The finely textured surface has been intricately incised with a plasma cutter—see the close-up shots. With, but not attached to, a 14” cubic wooden pedestal. Bearden's work was featured in a 2017 solo exhibition at the NY Design Center titled "James Bearden: Life in Steel;" in an article in the January 2017 Interior Design Magazine; in an introspective feature on 1stdibs; and in a feature article in DSM Magazine. Measurements do not include wooden pedestal.
